UndoLooper - Build Verse/Chorus Live with Unlimited Undo
A downloadable UndoLooper
UndoLooper — The Verse/Chorus Looper
Now free. Built for live performance, not just the studio.
UPDATE: v.1.2.3
Bug fixes and live looping latency optimizations.
Every live looper hits the same wall: you build a massive arrangement layer by layer, the chorus is huge, the crowd is with you — and then it's time to drop back into a verse. You can't. Standard loopers give you one undo, maybe. Your song becomes a static wall of sound with nowhere left to go.
UndoLooper fixes this with unlimited undo and redo, designed as live performance tools — not "oops" buttons.
Undo and Redo Are Your Verses and Choruses
Most loopers treat undo as a way to fix mistakes. UndoLooper treats it as the heart of your arrangement.
Build your full chorus: rhythm guitar, body percussion, bassline, lead lines, harmonies. That's your chorus state.
Now hit undo, undo, undo. You're back to just the acoustic guitar and a kick. That's your verse.
Perform the verse. Then redo, redo, redo — and the whole band slams back in. Massive chorus. Crowd loses it.
That's not jamming. That's arranging a song live, on stage, in real time. Verse to chorus and back. Intro, breakdown, drop, bridge, outro. Your performance history becomes your song structure.
This isn't a feature for studio noodling. It's built for the stage.
Why Other Loopers Fail Live Performers
I've gigged with the Boss RC-505, the EHX 45000, the Pigtronix Infinity, the TC-Helicon VoiceLive. They're excellent at building one big wall of sound. But:
- One undo, maybe two. You can't deconstruct a song.
- Long-presses everywhere. Stop, clear, mode-switch — you're tap-dancing when you should be playing.
- Harsh stops. They cut audio mid-note. It sounds amateur.
UndoLooper is one-press-one-action. Unlimited history. Zero performance long-presses (the only long-press is a deliberate clear, so you can't accidentally nuke your loop mid-song).
Performance Shortcuts
- Back 5 — drop the energy fast. One click peels back five layers. Perfect for jumping straight from a full chorus into a stripped verse without tap-dancing.
- Bring It Back — instantly restores your biggest recent loop state. Solo breakdown back to a ten-layer finale in one click.
Free vs. Paid
UndoLooper is completely free to download and use. No demo timer. No nag screens. The full live performance engine — unlimited undo/redo, the performance shortcuts, VST3 plugin and standalone app — all free.
The paid upgrade unlocks:
- Save & load
.undoloopfiles — capture your full performance including every undo/redo state. Build setlists of pre-layered loops. Share with collaborators. Study how other players arrange. Also load and mp3, wav, or audio file. - Echo Stop — a carefully manicured musical fade tail when you stop. No harsh cuts, just smooth, professional endings.
- 60-second base loop — extended base loop length for longer-form arrangements.
What's New in This Build (Windows)
What's in 1.2.2 vs 1.2.1
Quick changelog of everything since the last installer:
- Bevel-sized click areas for REC/PLAY, UNDO, REDO, STOP (entire stomp-button face is clickable, not just the text)
- CLEAR button — one-click clear (alternative to holding STOP 2 s); MIDI-learnable; persisted in plugin state
- Audio file import in LOAD LOOP — WAV / MP3 / AIFF / FLAC / OGG, auto-resampled, capped at 60 s
.undoloopfile association in Windows Explorer + auto-load on double-click- Embedded pedal icon on the Standalone
.exeand shortcuts - Echo Stop relocated to a single row under Save/Load on the left side
- BringBack LED nudged 15 px left so it no longer crowds the text
- Status display — true ink-bounds measurement; text now actually fills the LCD rectangle vertically, with horizontal scale capped at natural proportion so short words like REC/DUB don't get stretched and long words like ALL BACK compress to fit
- Knob placement — symmetric around plugin centerline (158 / 400 / 642)
- Keyboard learn (Standalone only) — right-click a button, press a key, that key now triggers the button. Persists in session state. DAWs are unaffected.
Try It
UndoLooper runs in any VST3-compatible DAW (Cubase, Ableton, FL Studio, Studio One, Bitwig, REAPER, Reason, Digital Performer) or standalone. The audio engine is built from scratch to run smoothly on older computers using ASIO — you don't need a $3,000 rig to perform live confidently.
Download it. Load it up. Try arranging a song live instead of just stacking layers.
That's the difference.
